Sycuan Casino Resort Partners with PacArts to Expand Asian, Asian American and
Pacific Islander Art & Culture in San Diego
Sycuan sponsors PacArts 25th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival
with a $15,000 donation
As the Pacific Arts Movement (PacArts) is dedicated to educating and nurturing a new generation of creative leaders and storytellers in the AAPI community—so are we! Sycuan Casino Resort donated $15,000 to PacArts on Monday, Oct. 21, empowering the AAPI community in showcasing their art and culture in San Diego.
“Through their [Sycuan Casino Resort’s] support we have been able to uplift Asian and Pacific Islander stories and storytellers while investing in future storytellers through our youth filmmaker program, Reel Voices,” Executive Director of PacArts, Alex Villafuerte said.
Being proud partners of PacArts, we take pride in creating a stronger and more connected AAPI community. Our sponsorship not only supports The 25th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival but also fosters a greater understanding and appreciation of the APPI community’s heritage and stories.
The festival featured over 170 films from more than 35 countries, shown in over 35 languages. The festival also included post-screening receptions, filmmaker Q&A sessions, a mystery kung fu theater and more.
We were also involved in sponsoring PacArt’s Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival Gala, celebrating the best in Asian and Asian American cinema. Additionally, we featured Pink Buddha at Chew the Scene, where over a dozen of San Diego’s top AAPI chefs, restaurants and vendors showcased their take in Asian American cuisine.
Together, we are committed to making a positive impact and ensuring that the voices and talents of the AAPI community continue to shine brightly.
